A little about who we are

Becky has worked in the accounting field since 1983 when she was hired by a small, local accounting firm in Overland Park, KS. She went to college full time while working, graduated from Park University in 2001 and started practicing as a CPA in 2003. Becky has two grown children and seven grandchildren. When she has free time, she enjoys watching her grandkids playing basketball, soccer, football, volleyball and barrel racing. She is a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and loves cheering for the St. Lous Cardinals and Kansas City Royals. 

Meghann is Becky's daughter and joined the family business 7 years ago. She prepares individual tax returns and provides bookkeeping for some of our business clients.  She has two children, two bonus girls, four labs, ducks, chickens, cows, and any other animal she can fit in the back of her car. When she isn't working, you can usually find her at one of the kid’s sporting events, out with the animals on the farm, or cooking up something homemade.  

 Lari (pronounced Larry) joined the firm in 2023.  She has been doing accounting and tax work in many different forms for 19 years.  Any of our clients lucky enough to work with her will love her "can do" attitude and strong work ethic.  Lari has three kids and spends the majority of her time at football, wrestling or rugby events.  In her free time, Lari enjoys gardening, canning and taking care of her 100+ chickens!  

  Mechelle has 30 years experience in tax and accounting. She has a Master’s Degree in Accounting.  She is also trained in Safety Engineering with OSHA & FEMA  certifications.  She specializes in Business tax, focusing on the Construction & Real Estate Industries.  Mechelle has 2 grown children. Her son has a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Production & lives here in Missouri.  Her daughter has a Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture & lives in Colorado.  Her husband is a Union Carpenter.  If you can’t find Mechelle in the office, she is either working on a project on their property or hiking with her daughter in Colorado.  She also enjoys genealogy research and has helped transcribe documents for the National Archives.

 I’m new to the Rebecca Cochran CPA office, and I’m excited to be the welcoming face you’ll see when you come in. Although I’m just starting out in the accounting and administrative world, I bring a strong willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and a determination to master anything I put my mind to. I take pride in creating a friendly, helpful environment for clients and supporting the team however I can. Outside the office, I work as a waitress at Texas Roadhouse, where I’ve gained valuable customer service skills, and when I’m not working, I’m usually with my nieces and nephews—because being “Aunt De” is one of my favorite roles  

  Niki has recently joined our firm. She has 15 years of extensive experience in the accounting and tax fields. Now holding the prestigious Enrolled Agent (EA) designation, granted by the IRS, she is a great addition to our team.
